Thursday night was our undergraduate awards banquet, and as I walked to my car I stepped in a low spot and turned my ankle. I felt something pop and promptly sat on the curb for a couple of minutes. Realizing that at 9:00 at night there was probably no one coming by to save me, I hobbled to the car and drove myself forty minutes to our house. It's my left foot -- not great when you have to work the clutch!
I got up early Friday so I could get it x-rayed on my way into work. Diagnosis: I *might* have broken the tip of my fibula. It's apparently hard to tell. Either way, I'm supposed to treat it like a sprain and stay of my feet.
To add insult to (literal) injury:
- Charlie has a cold (and generally is allergic to housework) so the house looks like a bomb went off -- of course, besides a runny nose, Jaxon feels fine.
- I have a sore throat, cough, and laryngitis, so I sound lovely.
- I still had to go to work for our faculty meeting on Friday.
But I did come home in the early afternoon Friday and spent the rest of the day like this:
Finishing my second-to-last Hoop Up! and watching Dr. Who on Netflix.
I was able to finish Corinne's embroidery last night, and started my last one this morning. Looks like I might be on time!
I also tried to get a better photo of Jennie's circles, but life wasn't cooperating....
If you're looking for me I'm camped out on the couch!

Ouch! I sure hope you heal (I soooo wanted to type heel haha) quickly. Your embroidery is lovely -- we're so lucky that we have handwork to keep us occupied during forced downtime!
I hope you feel better soon. The embroidery is wonderful. Hopefully it makes being laid up a bit more bearable.
You poor thing! Hope you are up & running soon!
Sorry to hear about the ankle and throat. You've certainly made good use of your rest time. Beautiful embroidery!
Yikes - that's no fun at all! Well, if it has to be, I hope you get lots of handiwork done and enjoy some shows. It seems like you're already doing a good job of that!
ooooI bet that hurt!! It always happens when you are on your own and in the evening doesn't it? If you were at a banquet were you also wearing a posh dress that is tricky to drive in anyway? My husband stepped off a boat at work misjudged the step and all 6 foot 2in of him fell over and he chipped a bone off his ankle, very painful so sympathy to you on this. Hope you are on the mend. Your circles are soooo neat, love the designs you have created.
xx

Although I think lounging in your fab-o pjs and stitching all day sounds just divine ... did you really need to go so far as an injury??? ;-)
I hope you feel better soon.
