Jaxon keeps saying "Ice ice, baby! Too cold! Too cold!"
Is it child abuse if your child knows Vanilla Ice lyrics? It doesn't help that when we look outside we see this:
The dog thinks it is the Best. Thing. Ever. She throws herself into the snow bank that is our deck and buries her face. Charlie says our old lady is battling doggy hot flashes.
But it is kind of cozy in the house, watching the Olympics and stitching. This one's for Aneela.

We were singing "Ice Ice Baby" just the other day while playing Don't Break the Ice. I also heard him singing about his "bankroll" a few days ago, from "Right Round."
I actually don't listen to this kind of music very much, but it's always what he picks up on. Maybe he's got more groove than I do.
I can imagine it is cold!! But what a simply BEAUTIFUL picture! I love that photo! makes me wish I was there to see it!
I strongly suggest my course of child abuse. Teach your child to follow every instance of the word "stop" with "collaborate and listen, ice is back with a brand new edition." Endless fun.
How funny! Personally, I taught my kids the Beatles and the Rolling Stones at a very early age. Of course, Vanilla Ice wasn't around for the first one.
I see no problem... its got to be better that your 4 year old wandering around the house singing spongebob square pants...
;D
beautiful icicles... oh how I wish I were there... well obviously not right in your house.. that would be rude but somewhere in your neck of the woods... with all that lovely snow...
x Alex
Brrrrrrrr!
I won't share the songs that my children have learned by heart (mortifying!), but one of them might be by The Sugarhill Gang.
Hmm. Where to begin. Should I start with the fact that I live in the land of the frozen tundra and we have way less (highly technical weather term) than you...OR remind you that we used to sing Billy Squire (you know the SWIMMING song) as small children much to Mom's annoyance PLUS Dad let us listen to ZZ Top (TSB) and Jimmy Buffet(WDWGDAS)and we turned out just fine or tell you that Marcelo and his friend Tony RAN through the grocery store last night in order to slide down the aisles and spin like Michael Jackson including the grab and high note. AND as fte would have it my word verification is vinallse which we could say was vanilla ice. Hugs
I would totally steal your doggy, but it seems like she would miss the snow!
Isn't it interesting what we mammals do? I've never seen a dog go snow-diving; I've never thought of teaching a child "Ice ice baby..." I have no dog but am now quite tempted to teach "ice ice baby" to K & N!!
(N does a super-sweet rendition of "These boots are made for walking" aka Nancy Sinatra style in her 4 year old voice & unable to pronounce her r's!)
That little stitchery is darling! Can't wait to see the whole thing. And your dog in the snow is too funny -- good thing she likes snow -- are you getting more at the end of the weekend?
Those icicles looks like they are preparing to impale everyone! Do you have to wait for them to melt or will they just fall off one day? Can you tell I have no icicle experience??
ok, serioulsy that is so cute, and all the vanilla ice comments are hilarious!
I love your embroidery - and I can't believe it's taken me this long to see it. My bloglines is so messed up - I need to change to google reader!
