34.

I spent the last two days sewing a skirt. A skirt meant to be a birthday gift to myself.

Today is my birthday. And the skirt is too short. *sigh*

I put it on long enough to have a photo shoot (with some very funny outtakes)...

...and then took it off to put on something less dressy for a low-key dinner, and so I could wear one of my gifts.

It turned out really cute though! And for the record, it doesn't look to short to me, especially with the navy tights. I also think tall boots go a long way toward making shorter skirts feel more wearable (less leg showing!). Nice snow! :)

Happy birthday! You barely have any snow! Your skirt turned out better than any of mine ever have (& I don't want to describe the wraparound from high school!) There's a reason why I stick to blankets/quilts!!

Happy Birthday!

I think the skirt looks adorable. And with tights, not at all to short. I hope you will find occasion to wear your creation. Seems sad not to after all the work.

Happy Birthday Beth! I really like the skirt too - I love the combo of the fabrics!

Happy Birthday!

The skirt fits you well. The length looks fine to me! Obviously you were looking for something a bit longer. Any way you can decrease the hem or add some fabric to it. Maybe a band of the same fabric?

Happy Birthday! I love the skirt too and agree it's not too short.

Happiest of Birthdays, Beth! You have the legs and the youth to carry off the skirt and I say flaunt 'em if you've got 'em. Hope your dinner out was lovely and properly celebratory!

Many Happy Returns of the Day! I think the skirt if perfect, love the necklace and may the next year be full of joy and sunshine for you and yours!

Happy Birthday! What a bummer about the skirt, though. Is there any way you could add a waste panel to lengthen it?

Happy Birthday!! And yeah, I see what ya mean about the length... can it be salvaged? Or at least turned into a cute tote bag or something??

The skirt looks awesome. Wear it with leggings and show off those great legs of yours!

I don't think the skirt seems too short at all! However, if you are not comfortable with that length, find a pair of thinish leggings to wear under it!

Happy Belated Birthday!!! You're ADORABLE! Can you add a bit of something to make it a length that you like? (It doesn't look too short to me!)

Happy birthday Beth!! Too bad your skirt is too short, I think it looks great. I just saw the pattern on etsy and was thinking it was cute, but I have a fear of sewing my own clothes!
Hopefully you had a great birthday night out!
