Don't let the door hit you....

March. BLARGH. What a crappy month.

I had a couple of disappointments at work, plus the world's shortest spring break. The weather has been super crazy -- it snowed TWICE this week!

I spent a bunch of time preparing my entry for Project Selvage. Maybe I was overconfident. Maybe I should have learned my lesson after Market. Regardless, I was not selected as a finalist.

Here's my entry, "Caravan."

Not coming soon to a store near you.

And I didn't finish my March Pattern Pact in time -- which I was also planning on entering in the Moda Bake Shop March contest. BLARGH.

Here's what should have been my entry, just needs to be bound before the official photo shoot...

So far, 35 hasn't been the best.

Beth-I think your print is really cute. I don't know what they were looking for because some of my favorites that I have seen on blogs here and there didn't make it to the finals and some of the ones that did are just eyn to me. But then again I'm not a marketing major :) Love the quilt can't wait to see the rest of it.

Well... it can only get better from here! May your cup be half full for the rest of 35.

Happy Belated Birthday and it only gets better from here! I love every year I turn older!

The print you designed is very cute! Back when my boys were small, there weren't a lot of cute prints, but I would have bought this! Don't give up!

The star quilt is stunning!

I love your print! Dude, I applaud you for having the cohones to enter in the first place. That takes....well, it takes cohones that I don't have. *g* So don't be too hard on yourself. Your quilt look super exciting, too!!

Don't be discouraged. I like your print. It's original. Some of the prints they selected are so similar to other prints out there. Be happy you are thirty five, and enjoy it. I will soon turn 60--talk about depressed. The one thing I can tell you is live your life to the fullest so when you're 60 you don't regret anything. OKAY? Okay.

Hopefully April will be better for you. Can't wait to see your finished quilt.

And I think the fabric is cute. I'd totally buy it :)

Yeah, so instead there were a bazillion owl prints in the finalist group. Don't get me wrong, I love me some owls, but even I have to admit they're over-done. There was only 2 prints I liked in that group of 75; I thought the rest were blah and were too similar to stuff that was already out there. I guess the camels were too different? Your print could be the foundation for a really cute nursery/toddler room AND it would be so different compared to what's out there currently. Boo :(

Oh Beth -- that print is just tooo cute! I think you DID learn from market -- you followed some of the suggestions and I think it made a huge improvement. I love the colors! I haven't followed the spoonflower project -- the competition must have been pretty stiff.

I'm with you on march -- SO happy to say Good. Riddance. Bring on Spring!!!
